A Tradition of Excellence
Strong women's teams are a source of pride for Emerson College, and we are committed to improving the quality of women's athletics and promoting equality for all female student-athletes.
In recent years Volleyball, Soccer, Tennis, Cross Country, and Softball have all made it to post-season playoff competition. Women’s Cross-country has captured the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship three times in the past six years.
In addition to our teams’ successes, Emerson's female student-athletes are regularly recognized for their individual achievements. Recent top-performers include Cross Country's Katrina Kozarek, named Most Valuable Player in the GNAC in 2002, and Women's Soccer players Amanda Pinto (2002) and Ellen Boss (2001) who each received Rookie of the Year recognition.
Boss became the first woman in the history of the Conference to win rookie of the year honors as a first year student and Player of the Year honors as a senior. Boss was also the Player of the year her junior year. Soccer goalkeeper Katie Hartman (2004) and softball outfielder Mallory Moretti (2005) were each named Rookie of the Year in their respective sports.
