Meet the Coach
Head Coach Jared Scarpaci
Jared Scarpaci took over the reins of the Emerson College Men’s soccer program in the Fall of 2003 and the improvement in the program was immediate. In Jared’s initial season the Lions compiled a 11-7-1 record and advanced to the semi-finals of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament.
Success on the soccer pitch is no stranger to Jared, who is a native of Danvers, Mass. He came to Emerson from an assistant coaching position at perennial New England Division III power Salem (Mass.) State College where he spent two years with the men’s team while earning a Masters Degree in Education. Among his duties with the program were recruiting and scheduling, as well as practice and game coaching.
A graduate assistant at Stetson University for the 2000 season where he began work on his masters degree, Jared handled many of the administrative aspects of the program. Jared also spent two seasons at Endicott College with the men’s team and was an assistant in the Wentworth Institute of Technology women’s program.
Heavily involved in youth soccer, Jared is the Director of the Massachusetts Olympic Development program. As such he supervises a dozen teams and over 250 players and is responsible for all administrative aspects of the organization including the hiring of coaches and fundraising.
Jared holds a US Soccer Federation National "B" License and an Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He has played semi-professional soccer with the Lowell Blues and the Massachusetts Aztec.
A History major in college at Clemson University where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree, Jared had a minor in Religious Studies. He was a member of the Clemson club that was ranked twelfth in the nation while in college and also played for two seasons at Division I Siena College.
A high school history teacher on the North Shore, Jared has a master's degree in Secondary Education from Salem State College. He has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, and has started his own sport for development non-profit organization, Global Goals.
