Lions Take Home Sportsmanship Award
The Emerson College men’s lacrosse team was awarded the North Atlantic Conference Sportsmanship Award recently in a vote by Conference coaches. This is the first time the Lions have gained this recognition.
“I’m extremely proud of the team for winning this award,” Coach Scott Dupuis said. “At the end of the season our numbers were depleted by injury and we had only 13 players available for the last couple of games. When you’re tired you sometimes tend to do things that you might later regret. The fact that our team played through that adversity and that the coaches in the conference recognized our players as good lacrosse citizens is very gratifying.”
Smoller Named NAC Honorable Mention
Emerson College men’s lacrosse goalie Dean Smoller (Fairfax, VA) has been chosen as an honorable mention selection to the North Atlantic Conference 2006 All-Conference team. A freshman, Smoller started all 10 games for the Lions. He averaged 12.6 saves per game with a save percentage of .633.
