What it means to be an Emerson Lion
To be an Emerson Lion means that there are a variety of opportunities at your feet. Whether you decide to become a film major, journalism student, theatre major, study communication disorders, or experiment with various other choices of study, you know that you are receiving the very best resources to become successful in your intended career.
Our students not only learn in the classroom, but by gaining firsthand experience — Emerson has campuses in Los Angeles, and in Well, The Netherlands, and the college encourages networking for internships and job opportunities.
Our professors are experts in their fields, as are our coaches. Emerson coaches know firsthand the fulfilling experience of playing sport and share this inspiration with their student-athletes. They are mentors, advisors, and motivators, and our coaches challenge student-athletes to achieve the goals they set together.

Admission & Financial Assistance
Emerson College welcomes applications from students whose interests and abilities are congruent with a major in communication and the arts and who are well prepared to meet the challenges of a strong liberal arts curriculum.
Admission is based on academic performance, recommendations, writing competency, and standardized test results as well as evidence of extracurricular activities, community involvement, and demonstrated leadership.
Portfolios and auditions may be required for some intended programs of study. Students interested in applying should contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission for application forms.
Emerson offers several types of financial assistance: scholarship, merit aid, loans, and college work-study. In order to be considered for financial assistance, students must complete the FAFSA form, CSS Profile form, and the Emerson College Application for Financial Assistance.
Deadlines for filing these forms are important, and applicants seeking merit-based awards should apply early. Students applying should contact Student Financial Services.
