Securing Emerson's Future

Katie Reynolds '12

In the spirit of National Philanthropy Day I wanted to take a moment to let you know why Philanthropy is so important to me.

One of the most exciting moments of my life was when I got the news that I was accepted to Emerson College!  What was even more exciting was when I found out that I could actually tell Emerson YES because I received a scholarship!  Through scholarships, I am able to attend my dream school and get an outstanding education that will help me succeed once I become an alumna of Emerson College.

I was inspired when I learned that my scholarships were funded by gifts from alumni and parents.  These gifts have shaped my Emerson experience and I want to do something to be a part of that process.  By working at the Emerson Pride Phonathon, I have the opportunity to speak with parents and alumni whose generosity allows students to attend a college that provides an excellent educational and life-changing experience.  It never fails to amaze me how the people I call on through the phonathon go above the call of duty in sharing their support, wisdom, passion and knowledge with me and my classmates.  The influence and support of generous parents, alumni, and friends is remarkable and tangible and I know that when I am an alumna I will return the gift that so many have given me.

As a member of the Emerson family and community, the impact and importance of your support cannot be overstated!  Join me in celebrating Emerson, higher education and philanthropy on November 13th, National Philanthropy Day,by making your gift to the Emerson Fund.  Invest in me and other Emerson students and I promise we won't let you down!
