General Education Curriculum:

Waivers

Students may earn waivers from certain General Education requirements based on ACT/SAT exam scores or experience as detailed below. Academic credit is not given for waivers. Students who qualify for a waiver are simply exempt from taking certain courses, thus allowing the student to make alternate course selections.

Written Communication
A waiver from the first of the two written communication requirements, WR101 Expository Writing, is awarded for:

  • A score of 700 or higher on the Critical Reading portion of the SAT exam

Students who earn waivers from WR101 Expository Writing will take the second of the two writing requirements: WR121 Essay Writing.
