
General Education Curriculum:
FOUNDATIONS
Emerson students learn to think and communicate with clarity, substance and critical insight through the written and spoken word.
Written Communication (8 credits)
This two-course expository writing sequence is designed to enable students to write competently and effectively. Students who earn 700 or above on the Critical Reading portion of the SAT will have WR101 waived. In the first year, students enroll in the following:
Quantitative Reasoning (4 credits)
Students who earn a SAT-Math score of 550 or above, an ACT-Math score of 24 or above or who complete 4 years of High School Math with grades of C or better will have this requirement waived. A waiver may also be obtained through written examination created by the Mathematics faculty and offered through the Academic Advising Center. Students choose from any of the MT, Mathematics, courses offered by the communication Sciences and Disorders Department.
