Withdrawing from a Course

  • Students may withdraw from a course after the tenth day of classes and before the last two weeks of classes (or before the last five class meetings during a summer session). Check the academic calendar for specific dates.
  • No refund is given to students who withdraw from a course.
  • To withdraw from a course students must obtain a Course Withdrawal Form at the Student Service Center. The course instructor must sign the form and the signed withdrawal form must be returned by the student to the Student Service Center before the start of the last two weeks of classes.
  • A grade of WP - Withdraw Pass or WF - Withdraw Fail is recorded for the class, depending on the student's grade at the time of withdrawal. Withdrawal from a course does not impact the GPA.
  • The Academic Advising Center encourages students to meet with an academic advisor to discuss the pros and cons of Withdrawing from a course.

Note: A Withdrawal does NOT constitute successful completion of a course. This may affect a student's academic standing - student's who fail to successfully complete at least 75% of attempted coursework have not made satisfactory academic progress.
