Things to consider as you plan for Readmission:

  • Remember Emerson's class registration schedule. If possible, contact the Advising Center to apply for readmittance at least one month prior to the registration period for the semester you wish to return.
  • Registration for Fall semester classes takes place in early April; registration for Spring semester classes takes place in late November. If you are readmitted prior to the registration period you will be registering along with continuing students, which ensures you have the same selection of classes as your peers.
  • Students are readmitted to the College under the same academic standing under which they left. Any coursework taken during the absence will be considered in the readmission process.
  • After an absence of more than two years students who wish to resume studies at Emerson must reapply for admission through the Office of Undergraduate Admission. They will be subject to the current admissions standards and must follow the requirements stated in the catalogue in effect when they reenter the College. Previous Emerson coursework is subject to approval.
  • The Guidelines for Readmission (PDF) will provide you with important information to help make the Readmission process as smooth as possible.
