Applying to the Department of Performing Arts

There are two steps in applying to an undergraduate major offered by the Department of Performing Arts.

Apply to Emerson College using the Common Application.

Once Emerson has received your Common Application including the Required Emerson College Supplement, the Office of Undergraduate Admission will send you an ID number via regular mail that you will use to apply to the Department of Performing Arts.

Apply to the Department of Performing Arts using StageDoor: The Performing Arts Application Supplement.

Once you have received an Emerson ID from the Office of Undergraduate Admission you will be able to login to StageDoor. Depending upon which Performing Arts program you are applying to, your supplement will include one of the following:

  • Scheduling an audition
  • Submitting a portfolio and scheduling an interview
  • Submitting a Performing Arts essay

Performing Arts also uses StageDoor to post times, dates, locations and other important information regarding supplemental application materials. While you can view this information without your Emerson issued ID number, you will be unable complete the supplement until you receive this information.
