Transfer students will have their final college and university transcripts sent to the Registrar's Office to determine how many credits will transfer. An Evaluation of Transfer Credit will be available online usually one to two weeks after the decision letter is mailed. This website explains which courses will transfer, specifies the number of credits awarded, and indicates a class standing at Emerson.
Transfer credits will only be evaluated if an official school transcript with final grades are received. As you complete your classes, please mail your updated official transcripts as soon as possible so they can be evaluated. If you have questions about mailing transcripts, or if a transcript has been received by Emerson, please contact the Admission Office at admission@emerson.edu. If you have a question concerning your credit evaluation or class standing, contact the Registrar’s Office at registrar@emerson.edu.
When considering transfer students for housing, their semesters at previous colleges are taken into consideration for the number of semesters they will be required to live in on-campus housing. Transfer students are required to live on campus for their first four semesters of college (remember that this includes semesters attended at previous colleges), and for the fifth and sixth semesters pending the availability of housing.
Housing contracts extend for through the full academic year (fall and spring), and students living on campus in the fall semester are obligated to remain in on-campus housing for the fall and spring semesters. In addition, all resident students are required to purchase one of the College-sponsored meal plans.
Please note that the College may not be able to provide on-campus housing for all students beyond their fourth semester in college (which includes semesters attended at previous colleges). In addition, students who do not meet the residency requirement will be considered for housing on a space available basis. More information about the residency requirement...
The Advising Center will contact students that have been accepted for the fall (and have submitted an enrollment deposit) near the end of the summer concerning course registration.
