How to Apply to the Washington, D.C. Program

Application to the Washington, D.C. Fall 2014 program will be available on The Washington Center (TWC) website beginning January 1, 2014.  Emerson College requests that you apply before April 1, 2014. Space is limited to 20 students.

The application must be completed online through The Washington Center website. A $60 application fee is due at the time of application. The application consists of the following:

• TWC Online Application Form
• Personal and academic information
• Interest area preferences
• Resume that clearly outlines your educational, volunteer, leadership, and work experience
• Statement of professional interest that describes the types of activities you’d like to be involved with during the internship and how they relate to your career goals. Do not mention the name of any specific organizations.
• Issues essay that discusses one issue related to the area in which you wish to work. You should make note of your personal views on the topic. This is not meant to be a research paper but it should show you have some background knowledge and interest in the topic.
• Two letters of recommendation (may be submitted online or by mail)
• Official transcript (official transcripts may be requested online via eCommon)
• Campus liaison/sponsor approval. David Griffin is the Campus Liason name to type on your application.
• $60 nonrefundable application fee

The College reserves the right to withdraw this offering if it fails to generate sufficient enrollment. Participants should be guided by this policy when making travel arrangements. Emerson College is an equal opportunity, affirmative action institution.
