Kasteel Well Faculty
Is a professional photographer and has been teaching History of Photography and Digital Photography at Kasteel Well since 2005. He studied physics and mathematics at the University of Nijmegen.
Since then he has been working as a photographer and photojournalist. For the past several years he has concentrated on working for governmental, care and educational institutions. He continues to work for many of the best newspapers and magazines in the Netherlands.
He works in a lot of photographic fields, such as architecture, reportage and portraits. He has taught photojournalism at the University of Utrecht's School of Journalism and at the Dutch Institute for Digital Photography in Haarlem. Professionally, he has won many prominent awards for his photographs, including prizes at the World Press Photo Contest and the Dutch Zilveren Camera Award. Many of his photographs appear on this website.
He is a board member of the Visual Communication Quarterly, the official publication of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication in the US.
