Dorien van Schie specializes in journalism, marketing communications and the art of copy writing.
Dorien van Schie specializes in journalism, marketing communications and the art of copy writing. While in school she worked as a communications manager for ATT-Unisource, executing the communications campaign for 22 international companies around the Millenium Program of ATT and its European partners KPN, Telia, Swisscom and Telefonica. Dorien has a track record in Public Relations as a PR consultant for the pan European PR agency, NewsEnginePR serving clients as Vistorm Europe, T&A Radar, Cibit, PTC Benelux, Pervasive, Software AG and as the European spokesperson for Ceva Logistics.
Since 2001 she has run her own communications agencies: CopyCoach and Plan D. She worked as an interim manager for the branch organization for the Dutch construction industry, SNS Bank, ABN AMRO, Ceva Logistic, Fortis (during the crisis of 2008). As a copywriter she worked amongst others for TNT Express, TNT Post, Ordina, Mare Media, Susie Shopping Guide, the Dutch Animal Protection, The Vision Web, Chamber of Commerce, Syntens, the city councils of Utrecht and Haarlem, the Erasmus University, Eurocamp, Casema, Sub Multimedia Research Lab and Fokker Aircraft. She is the writer of a book on the creative industry in Holland. She is currently working on an innovative cocreation project for the creative industry in Haarlem.
In addition to her work as a Senior Communications Professional, Dorien is the founder and director of the international NGO, Mpowering People, which empowers underprivileged (street) children, teenagers and adults in Nicaragua with the opportunities, resources and support they need to be self-sufficient. She and her co-teacher, Monique Potters, met during the post graduate (HBO) training & coaching course, specializing in coaching and training communication skills, personal leadership and cooperation for professionals. Together with Monique she runs the PR and communications agency Spraakmakers & co. An agency that is using the latest interactive media and emerging technologies, to put opinion leaders in the middle of the debate on the cutting edges of their specialism.
