Please note that all financial aid, including Emerson grants and scholarships will transfer to a fall or spring semester at Kasteel Well.  If you are currently paying under a deferred payment plan such as Tuition Pay, you will want to increase your tuition cost by $2,590 (the current cost of the KW travel package).

*Spring Term Students* - The cost of health insurance will NOT appear on your spring bill.  If you wish to purchase Emerson's Spring Term Student Health Insurance (coverage from January 1, 2013 - August 14, 2013) please contact Student Services.  The cost is $781 for undergrads.  The EC Aetna Student Health plan meets mandatory coverage requirements for students participating in this program.

    • R/T airfare: Boston/Amsterdam.
    • * A portion of this amount will be deducted from your bill if you make your own flight arrangements (this credit varies each semester, usually between $850 to $1100)
    • Arrival and Departure (group) ground transportation to/from Schiphol Airport to/ from Kasteel Well
    • One-way transportation to the required group excursion cities - PAY ATTENTION:   students must arrange and pay for their transportation back to the castle (or other cities they may want to travel to) at the end of group excursions. 
    • Required excursion city hotel accommodations and some meals
    • Required excursion city museum admissions and special event entry tickets
    • Third Party Liability Insurance.This policy will cover a student’s personal liability for damages, loss of property, injury, or death caused or inflicted while participating in the Kasteel Well Program
    • International Student Identity Card (ISIC)
    • FRIDAY & SATURDAY MEALS
    • Individual transportation costs for a one-way return trip back to the castle (or other travel destinations) at the end of required GROUP field excursions.  This includes the group excursions to Amsterdam Berlin and Madrid.
  • Orientation Fee Europe, $35: This fee covers the cost of activities during orientation weekend at Kasteel Well.
  • Spending Money for the Kasteel Well Program, $4,200: Most spring and fall semester students need approximately $4,000 to travel on a budget. Many students will spend more money, some will spend less; the amount you need depends on your personal travel style, how many weekends you travel away from the castle and how much shopping you do.  A recent survey of former KW students revealed these averages:
    • $ 800 +/- on shopping, entertainment, nightlife, etc.
    • $  450 +/- on ground transportation (trains, bus, taxi and subways)  
    • $  900 +/- on airfare to destinations around Europe
    • $  800 +/- on accommodations for independent travels
    • $   100 +/- each weekend on meals ($100 x 12 = $1,200)
    • $     50 +/- on phone and texts
  • Mobile Phone: For safety purposes, all castle students are now required to carry a mobile phone that functions in Europe.
  • Health Insurance Coverage in Europe: Participants in the Kasteel Well Program must have an insurance plan that provides coverage outside of the United States. Please visit the Health & Safety section to view mandatory insurance coverage requirements for castle students.
