About the MLeague Summer Academy
MLeague (International League of Higher Education in Media and Communications) Summer Academy Program in Beijing will take place from June 4 - June 22, 2012.
10 - 12 rising juniors and seniors (of any major) are offered an opportunity to earn 4 interdisciplinary credits. The 3-week summer program is offered in partnership with Communication University of China [CUC]. Instruction will be in English. Each Emerson student will be paired with a CUC student to help them navigate their way through class studies and life in Beijing. The program will consist of:
- Morning lectures on Chinese communication history, media systems - including tv, press, film and new media, Chinese communication policies, culture and international communication strategies.
- Afternoons will be spent doing field work on a variety of topics and working with the group on class projects
- Students will visit some of Beijing's most famous cultural and historic sites
- Students will present their completed project to their professor and class
- There will be some social activities and cultural tours
