Wendy Mnookin is the author of four books of poetry, What He Took (winner of the Sheila Motton Award from the New England Poetry Club), To Get Here, Guenever Speaks, and the 2008 collection The Moon Makes Its Own Plea. Her poems have appeared in magazines, journals, and on-line sites, including the Harvard Review, Moment, Poetry Daily, and Prairie Schooner, and in anthologies, including Boomer Girls, Proposing on the Brooklyn Bridge, and Urban Nature.
Her poems have won prizes from journals and she has been awarded a Poetry Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. Mnookin has taught poetry workshops at Music of Words in Bend, Oregon; The Writers' Garret in Dallas, Texas; The Writers' Center in Chautauqua, New York; and has taught poetry and creative writing at Boston College. In addition to teaching at Emerson, she teaches at Grub Street, a non-profit Boston writing center.
