Dr. Stéphane Maison is an auditory physiologist studying the peripheral auditory system. He authored and co-authored 38 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals. He currently serves as Assistant Professor in Otology and Laryngology at Harvard Medical School and Research Investigator at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. Stéphane developed a variety of techniques for cochlear phenotypic analysis in the mouse model, including surgical techniques to activate or lesion the olivocochlear system in the brainstem of the mouse. His research aims to identify the mechanisms underlying protection from acoustic injury by exploiting genetic manipulations available in transgenic mouse models and probing the function of the olivocochlear system in presbycusis and cochlear neuropathy.
