Shannan Adler is an award-winning journalist and an adjunct professor of journalism at Emerson College in Boston, where she teaches broadcast journalism to both graduate and undergraduate students.
Previously, Shannan worked as a writer and producer for CNN and CNN International in Washington, D.C., as well as a freelance producer for NPR and an international field producer for Operation Smile. Prior to her career in television, Shannan worked as a print reporter for several Washington, D.C.-area newspapers.
Shannan graduated from James Madison University, and is completing a Masters in International Affairs at Georgetown University. She is a frequent Harvard University media industry panelist and speaker on modern journalism and serves as a career coach for students.
Shannan is an avid runner and Dachshund-lover and has found her passion in international reporting. This summer Shannan spent a month in Southeast Asia and is currently planning her next trip. Her master's coursework is based in Israel and will reflect her time and research in the Middle East region. She currently splits her time between Boston, Massachusetts, Rye, New Hampshire and Washington, D.C.
