Ken Cheeseman is a graduate of the Trinity Rep Conservatory in Providence Rhode Island. He also studied at the International Film Workshops of Rockport, ME with film directors Mark Rydell, Alex Singer and Peter Werner. He was a three year participant in a Department of Education Grant, Partners in Production, through which he received training in video production while in partnership with members of Boston's deaf community. He has studied extensively with master improvisation teacher Keith Johnstone (author of Impro) and with Kristin Linklater (author of Freeing the Natural Voice).
His extensive film and television credits include Shutter Island, directed by Martin Scorcese, Joy, directed by David O. Russell, Olive Kitteridge, the Emmy Award winning mini-series with Fran Macdormand and Richard Jenkins and most recently in Comedy Central's mini-series Time Traveling Bong with Ilana Glazer. On stage he has performed in regional theatres such as La Jolla Playhouse, Yale Rep, Hartford Stage, the Huntington Theatre, American Repertory Theatre, Trinity Rep, Long Wharf Theatre and Baltimore Center Stage. Off Broadway he has appeared at La Mama ETC. with Alvin Epstein in King Lear, at CSC in Scapin with Stanley Tucci, in The Cherry Orchard with Dianne Weist and John Turturro and in Dr. Faustus with Chris Noth, at BAM in The Master Builder with John Turturro and in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Measure for Measure at the New York Shakespeare Festival in Central Park.
He has taught at Boston University, Brandeis University, Columbia University, Boston Conservatory, New England Conservatory, CP Studios and led workshops for schools, colleges and theatres in the US and Europe.
