David Kelleher is a freelance video post-production specialist and web developer. His credits include National Geographic's Naked Science, and a grant to perform a juggling act, wired with motion sensors, that generates live electronic music. His talks on semantics and user experience design have been presented nationally at developer conferences.
His two decades of industry experience also encompass interactive design for Intel training applications, radio and TV advertisements for a New York diamond manufacturer, audio editing for Tom Snyder Production's Math Mysteries, web development work for dozens of non-profit organization, and web service programming for tech startups such as Axiomatic Design and the Tripod Project. Kelleher supports Internet Accessibility efforts as a member of Boston-IA. He has also produced experimental art for Spiral Light, a local multimedia collective.
Current teaching interests are animation for new media and advanced video effects using After Effects and Maya. Kelleher's research includes the application of machine learning techniques to large scale database-driven applications, such as movie recommendation websites and interactive radio. He has also taught basic computer skills classes to inner city grade school students, and developed digital effects editing and web design workshops for high school students and adult certificate programs. For more than a decade, he has created photography, video, and advanced website development curriculum for Emerson College, Boston University's Center for the Digital Imaging Arts, and the New England Institute of Art.
