Barry Horwitz is founder and president of Horwitz & Co. LLC, a management consulting practice focused on helping senior management develop and implement growth initiatives and strategic plans. His clients include early-stage and middle market companies as well as nonprofit organizations of both local and national scope. Prior to launching his own practice, he spent several years with The Boston Consulting Group, a leading global strategy firm, where he developed corporate strategies for global clients in a broad range of industries.
Horwitz also has senior management experience, both with early-stage companies and larger enterprises. He raised $12 million in venture capital to co-found an Internet-based collaboration platform company, and served as its chief operating officer for three years. He also served as VP of Marketing and Strategy for a venture-backed enterprise software company and for two billion dollar regional discount department store chains. Earlier in his career, he built and led a 32-unit in-store bakery division for a New England regional supermarket chain.
Horwitz has served as Executive-in-Residence and taught courses in strategy and entrepreneurship at Boston University's Questrom School of Business. He has also been a guest lecturer at the Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins, ESSEC in Paris and a NY program of the IESE Business School.
