How to Apply to the Kasteel Well Summer Program

The Kasteel Well Summer Program 2015 online application will be available November 15, 2014.

  • The application deadline is midnight on Sunday, March 15, 2015.
  • Enrollment is limited to 16: Applicants will be notified by email and regular mail of their acceptance status.
  • Apply early; admission may close before the published deadline date.
  • Preference will be given to upperclass students.
  • Applicants must be in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher and have no social sanctions against them.
  • All accepted applicants must have a valid passport good through December 2015. If you do not currently have a passport, best to get working on it now.
  • Criteria: Admission decisions will be made based on the following:
    • The quality of thought and expression demonstrated. Each applicant should take the time to compose a thoughtful, well-written answer to the Written Statement.
    • There should be no grammar or spelling errors, and you should answer with a maximum of 500 words.
    • Class standing: preference will be given to upperclass students.
    • Cumulative grade point average
  • Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance: Applicants should receive notification of their acceptance status within one month of submission.
  • Program Deposit: Upon approval to attend, a nonrefundable and nontransferable program deposit of $300 is required. Spaces are not held for applicants, even approved applicants, without a confirmation deposit.
  • Room and Board: Summer students are housed in double rooms only. Buffet breakfasts and lunches are served in the castle dining hall Mondays–Thursdays and dinners are served at a local restaurant Monday–Thursday and Sunday evenings. There is no meal service on Fridays or Saturdays. A $50 room/damage security deposit is also required.

The College reserves the right to withdraw this offering if it fails to generate sufficient enrollment. Participants should be guided by this policy when making travel arrangements.

Non-U.S., Non-E.U. Applicants

Due to recent and stricter application of Dutch immigration rules, non-U.S. and non-E.U. citizens may encounter difficulties obtaining an appropriate visa. All non-E.U. international applicants should contact the Director of International Study and External Programs or the Dutch Consulate in their home country for further information about visa restrictions.
