Emily Avery-Miller is a nonfiction writer with expertise in environment, technology and interdisciplinary studies. Her essays have been published in Bird's Thumb and 48 Review, and earned honorable mention in the 2014 New Millennium Writing Contest. She received the President's Award for academic achievement in her graduate program, including the manuscript-in-progress, You Are Now Connected: Making Sense of Humanity in the New Millennium. She is active in advancing civic engagement in the writing classroom.
