Don Lankiewicz is a consultant to publishers and publishing service providers in the United States and worldwide. A 30-year veteran of the industry, Don also advises venture capitalists and is active in various publishing, educational, and eLearning associations.
Don began his career in publishing at Merrill Publishing Company in Ohio, after teaching high school in Western Pennsylvania. Over his career he developed market-leading elementary and secondary school instructional materials for Merrill; Harcourt School Publishers in Orlando; Holt, Rinehart and Winston in Austin; and the Houghton Mifflin Company in Boston. During that time he held a variety of positions, including editor, editorial director, editor-in-chief, general manager, and publisher.
Prior to establishing his consulting business, Don held the position of Senior Vice President for Product Development at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a member of the company's Chief Publishing Office, which provided strategy and planning for developing digital and print preK-12 textbook, supplemental, assessment and technology learning products.
