Steve Himmer is author of the novel The Bee-Loud Glade (2011) and the ebook novella The Second Most Dangerous Job In America (2012), both published by Atticus Books. He also edits the webjournal Necessary Fiction.
The Bee-Loud Glade was named a "hot summer read" by NPR's On Point, a Top 10 Indie Pick for 2011 at Book Page, and a finalist for the 3:AM Magazine Novel of the Year (UK).
Himmer's short stories have appeared in journals and anthologies including Hobart, Los Angeles Review, Weber: The Contemporary West, Hawk & Handsaw, and On the Clock: Contemporary Short Stories of Work. He has published essays on literature and new media in the anthology Into the Blogosphere: The Rhetoric, Culture, and Community of Weblogs, as well as in journals and magazines including Journal of Ecocriticism and The Millions.
