Writing, Literature & Publishing Faculty
Johannah Haney is a writer, editor, and teacher. She is a former contributing editor to a national women's magazine, and has published personal essays in a variety of publications including The Boston Globe Sunday Magazine and The Irish Emigrant. Haney has published eighteen nonfiction reference books for children and young adults, most recently a biography of Shel Silverstein, published in 2014 by Cavendish Square Publishing, a division of Rosen.

Michelle Bailat-Jones (MFA '05)
won the inaugral Christopher Doheny award for her novel Fog Island Mountains. The award recognizes a book-lenth work of fiction or nonfiction exploring the experience of serious illness and includes a $10,000 prize as well as publication and promotion of the book in print and audio editions.
