Alden Jones is a writer and scholar specializing in creative writing, literature in translation, and exoticism. She is the author of The Blind Masseuse: A Traveler's Memoir from Costa Rica to Cambodia (2013) and the story collection Unaccompanied Minors (2014), winner of the New American Fiction Prize.

Michelle Bailat-Jones (MFA '05)
won the inaugral Christopher Doheny award for her novel Fog Island Mountains. The award recognizes a book-lenth work of fiction or nonfiction exploring the experience of serious illness and includes a $10,000 prize as well as publication and promotion of the book in print and audio editions.
