Jesse Baldwin-Philippi's work focuses on citizenship, civic engagement and digital media.
Her research is fundamentally concerned with how engagement with new technologies can restructure forms of political participation and ideas about citizenship, and is rooted in the fields of political communication, rhetoric, and science and technology studies. Jesse has investigated the intersection of these areas of study through an array of settings, from how political campaigns use digital technologies to the content of video games.
As a result, she is currently a researcher in the Engagement Game Lab at Emerson. Her work has been published in Political Communication, the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, and Games and Culture.
