Roberto Mighty is passionate about sharing his practical experiences from 30 years in independent production with his students.

As a New Media Artist, Roberto is spending one year creating a multimedia (HD, sound design, photography, mobile gps) installation -- Trees of My City -- based on dormant, dead & decaying trees and memories of the deceased. The installation is featured at The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University in January, 2011 with a continuing exhibition of his fine art photography through March. Roberto is also developing SCARS, a multimedia project about moments of intimate revelation by people who are disfigured in private areas of their bodies.

As an independent filmmaker, Roberto Mighty directed the critically acclaimed documentary Chinese Lessons, produced in cooperation with Zhejiang Province Television, with assistance from Harvard University, the Emily Dickinson Homestead, the Frost Library at Amherst College and the Whittier Birthplace. As a television producer, Roberto created, wrote, directed and produced 65 half hours of network affiliate and independent lifestyle programming, including primetime broadcasts on ABC/Hearst affiliate WCVB, Boston.

Roberto has directed over 50 audiobooks for HarperCollins, Random House, Prentice-Hall and other publishers, including work with Pulitzer Prize winner John Updike, MacArthur "Genius Grant" award winner Sandra Cisneros, Gregory Maguire, author of Wicked and Oprah's Book Club winner Andre Dubus III. In 2008, Roberto was appointed a Producer for the National Black Programming Coalition's New Media Institute in Washington, DC, working with WGBH's Basic Black.

As a corporate producer, Roberto writes, produces, shoots and edits projects for diverse clients, including Harvard Medical School, MIT's Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, Boston Scientific, Berklee College of Music, Wheelock College, US Centers for Disease Control, Novartis Pharmaceuticals and many more.

Roberto Mighty is an Adjunct Professor at Emerson College's Visual & Media Arts department. He is the recipient of a National Association of Latino Independent Producers Producer's Academy Fellowship in Santa Fe, New Mexico and a Faculty Grant from Emerson College. One of Roberto's most enjoyable projects was a 3-year commission to film documentaries on cutting edge arts groups for The Boston Foundation Fund for Arts & Culture.

An avid musician in his spare time, Roberto lives in the Boston area with his daughter and several guitars.
