Richelle Devereaux Murray

Richelle Devereaux-Murray oversees the design, construction, procurement, and alterations of costumes for eight Emerson Stage productions each year. She recently designed costumes for the Rod Parker Playwright Award winner, Paint. As an instructor in the Design/Tech department, Devereaux-Murray also teaches costume construction as a technique of stagecraft.
Outside of Emerson, Devereaux-Murray has held numerous jobs in costume construction, and as a wardrobe supervisor, head dyer/painter/distresser, star dresser, designer, and design assistant at celebrated Boston area theatres. Devereaux-Murray has worked on productions staged at The Publick, Lyric Stage Company of Boston, Speakeasy Stage Company, North Shore Music Theater, The Huntington Theater, The Cutler Majestic, and The Colonial Theater, among others.
As a member of IATSE local 481, Devereaux-Murray also has worked on many films, shorts, and commercials that have been shot in the Boston area. Her film and television work includes: dye/craft work on the dance sequence costumes in The Game Plan, alterations and costume construction for both 27 Dresses and Mona Lisa Smile, costumer on Fever Pitch, and design assistant for American Experience, produced by WGBH-TV for PBS.
