Aleksander Wierzbicki

Aleksander Feliks Wierzbicki born abroad and subsequently having resided in most corners of the world; early on was schooled in and acclimated to his various linguistic environments by maturing into and becoming an ardent practitioner of the Language and Performing Arts.

Multicultural and multilingual, Aleksander who is fluent in Polish, Russian and French is delighted to be an integral part of his Alma Mater's, "Oral Tradition" and honored in their having given him the opportunity to teach Voice and Articulation and "Career Speech" to the multi-Dialect / Accent diversified students.

Aleksander has acted, directed, stage-managed, functioned as an Artistic Foreign Language to English Cross Cultural Interpreter-Liaison, and taught "speech & acting" locally and regionally  at the University of Michigan, Minneapolis Children's Theatre Company & School, C.U.N.Y.- Lehman College in the Bronx, Suffolk University, Northeastern University, the American Repertory Theatre, Huntington, Opera Company of Boston (under the Artistic mentorship of the late Ms. Sarah Caldwell), Gloucester Stage, Lyric Stage, S.U.N.Y. Purchase's Pepsico SummerFare, and the Nuyorican Poets' Cafe.

Aleksander utilized his multilingual talents, particularly French, in his OFF-Broadway direction of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, and a Surrealist-Dadaist-Cubist internationally diversified event entitled Le Boeuf sur Le Toit -The Ox on the Roof Cabaret, at the Rhode Island School of Design, and on stage appearing in the Huntington's production of Cyrano de Bergerac, in "English" of course! His film credits include Barry, the therapist, in the Sundance Film Festival acclaimed Miramax film Next Stop...Wonderland, and an appearance in Prozac Nation. He is featured as " voice talent " interpreting various characters on the Houghton Mifflin Interactive CD-ROM, Children's Series of Curious George.

Aleksander is an active member of the Actors' Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild as well as the proud Recipient of the 2003 Emerson College-Gold Key Honor Society Affiliated Faculty Award for Outstanding Teaching.
