Lynda Bardfield

Advertising Veteran, Award-winning Creative Director, and Do-Good Social Marketer. Lynda Bardfield crossed over from a career in multinational commercial marketing as a Senior Vice President, Creative Director for several advertising firms, including Leo Burnett and FCB, into social marketing almost two decades ago. It was then that she took a position with the Academy for Educational Development (AED) as their Executive Creative Director and Regional Manager for Latin America on several USAID-sponsored global communication projects.

Lynda's next social marketing position was at Prospect Associates, now the American Institutes for Research (AIR) as Vice President, Creative Director, where she worked for over a decade building their creative department and winning awards for literally dozens of campaigns for clients including the CDC, USDA, NIH, and several state health departments.

Since 2006, Lynda has been working at FHI360 as their Associate Director for Strategic Behavioral Communication where she provides global technical leadership in social and behavior change communication to HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, nutrition, and chronic disease projects all over the world. Lynda also serves as Chief Creative Officer at Creative Conscience, her own consultant firm. A former recording artist, published lyricist, and award-winning broadcast producer with experience in over 40 countries, Lynda enjoys translating consumer research into creative strategies and innovative programs that motivate and transform. She is also passionate about training artists as change agents and giving a voice to the underserved.

In addition to her work at FHI360, Lynda has been directing Emerson's popular Annual Summer Institute for Social Marketing & Health Communication with Dr. Timothy Edgar since 2004. Lynda is also a judge for several industry award shows, including the prestigious Gracie Awards sponsored by the Foundation for American Women in radio & Television. A returned Peace Corps volunteer (Brazil) fluent in Portuguese and Spanish in addition to her native English, Lynda was born and raised in Boston.
