Graduate Experience: New York

NYC StreetsFortunately, there are some great affordable (and student friendly!) options for travel to/from Boston and New York City. We have provided a list of suggestions; however, we encourage you to conduct your own research to locate the best deals.

Students are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • February’s weather can be unreliable—we suggest that you attempt to make refundable reservations when possible in the event of inclement weather. Emerson College is not responsible and will not refund trip costs associated with weather cancellations.
  • If the trip is cancelled due to inclement weather, students are responsible for all costs (the $25 administration fee will be refunded). Additionally, if the trip is cancelled, it will not be rescheduled. Please take this into consideration when making your travel arrangements.
  • The typical trip cost per student ranges from $200 to $400, depending on travel and accommodation arrangements. Taxi fares in the City are reasonable and meal options are plentiful – plan to budget anywhere from $40 to $75 per day for incidental costs. Please note that taxi fares can jump significantly if you are traveling anywhere outside of the city.
  • We encourage you to share costs with classmates whenever possible (i.e., taxi rides, hotel rooms, meals, etc).
