General Education Waivers
Students may earn waivers from certain General Education requirements based on ACT/SAT exam scores or experience as detailed below. Academic credit is not given for waivers. Students who qualify for a waiver are simply exempt from taking certain courses, thus allowing the student to make alternate course selections.
Quantitative Reasoning
Students who earn an SAT math score of 550 or above, an ACT math score of 24 or above, or who complete four years of high school math with grades of C or better will have this requirement waived.
World Languages
Bilingual students or students who complete three years of high school study in any one foreign language will have the World Language requirement waived.
If you believe that you have earned one of the above waivers, but do not see it reflected on your transcript or degree audit, please contact the Registrar's Office at Registrar@emerson.edu to make sure your SAT/ACT scores and final high school transcript are on file.
