A Term faculty appointment is a full-time appointment issued for a year or a semester. It is a non-tenure track appointment. Some Term positions may be renewed and appointees reappointed depending on the needs of the department.

Faculty Search Committees
Search and Appointment of New Full-time Faculty Members follow the guidelines described in Section 5.1 – 5.3 of the Faculty Handbook (effective September 8, 2006 ).
All faculty and staff members must attend one of the scheduled search committee orientation workshops in order to be eligible to serve on a faculty search committee during the 2009-10 academic year . The offices of Academic Affairs and Human Resources will schedule several orientations for which faculty and staff can sign up. These orientations will address search and screen procedures, best practices, and college policies. Topics to be discussed include pre-search issues, recruitment, pre-interview, interview best practices, recruitment, search committee responsibilities, and post-interview techniques. Read the Faculty Search Committee Orientation to review these search and screen procedures. An Authorization Form is required for candidate interviews.

Department of Marketing Communication
Advertising and/or Integrated Marketing Communication
Description:
The Department of Marketing Communication at Emerson College seeks a full-time faculty member in advertising and/or integrated marketing communication. This position is open rank: term, tenure-track, or tenured (tenure-track or tenured preferred) depending on the qualifications, experience, and interests of the successful candidate. The appointment begins September 1, 2010.
Minimum qualifications for the position include:
• MBA or Masters in PR/Corporate Communications or related field; PhD or DBA preferred
• Evidence of research and/or other significant contribution to advertising and/or integrated marketing communication
• Candidates should have a strong foundation in theory and experience in practical application
• In addition, candidate must be able to teach broad range of courses in marketing and business at undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels
