A Term faculty appointment is a full-time appointment issued for a year or a semester. It is a non-tenure track appointment. Some Term positions may be renewed and appointees reappointed depending on the needs of the department.

Faculty Search Committees

Search and Appointment of New Full-time Faculty Members follow the guidelines described in Section 5.1 – 5.3 of the Faculty Handbook (effective September 8, 2006 ). 

All faculty and staff members must attend one of the scheduled search committee orientation workshops in order to be eligible to serve on a faculty search committee during the 2009-10 academic year . The offices of Academic Affairs and Human Resources will schedule several orientations for which faculty and staff can sign up. These orientations will address search and screen procedures, best practices, and college policies. Topics to be discussed include pre-search issues, recruitment, pre-interview, interview best practices, recruitment, search committee responsibilities, and post-interview techniques. Read the Faculty Search Committee Orientation to review these search and screen procedures. An Authorization Form is required for candidate interviews.

Faculty Position Detail

Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders
Speech-Language Pathology or a Related Field: Open rank tenure-track or tenured professor

Description:

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Emerson College seeks to hire a tenure-track or tenured faculty member with primary expertise in the area of Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.  Required qualifications are 1) a completed doctorate in Speech and Hearing Science, Communication Disorders, or a related discipline, 2) a record of excellence in teaching, and 3) an established record of research in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  The successful applicant will be expected to publish research in her/his area of expertise, teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, advise students, and participate in related academic service and scholarly activities. Appointment begins September 1, 2010.
