A.B. Harvard College, M.A. Emerson College

Tanya Dubro works at Brown University looking closely at the language doctors use to inspire their patient to make healthy changes. She has a strong interest in spoken language, coaching, motivational interviewing and the mysteries of personal change.
Tanya loves how health communication research allows her to integrate her art and design background, for example to edit videos for focus groups on how the West Wing represents Multiple sclerosis, or to produce experimental PSAs to test what people remember from health messages. She has worked on research projects at Brown, Tufts, and Emerson; and specializes in qualitative research and interviewing. Her Masters work focused on sex ed and disclosure and was published in the American Journal of Sexuality Education.
