Bill Broadway worked at The Washington Post for more than 18 years, including 11 years as the paper's first full-time Religion Page writer-editor. Covering such issues as Just War theory, gay marriage, Islamic jihad and Hollywood's view of religion, he explored the intersection of spirituality and culture and the role of faith in contemporary life.

Broadway received an American Academy of Religion Journalism Award for in-depth reporting and twice won top honors for religion coverage in the Washington, D.C., area. In 2005, he left The Post to start a digital printmaking business with an emphasis on photojournalism. Commissions included Pulitzer-entry portfolios for the New York Times Magazine and The Washington Post, including The Post's 2008 Pulitzer for Public Service. Since arriving in Boston, Broadway has taught journalism at Emerson and professional writing at UMass Boston. Previously, he taught literature of  the world's great religions at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
