Sideways screenwriter is latest Semel Chair
Jim Taylor, the screenwriter of the Academy Award-winning film Sideways and several other well-known films, is Emerson’s latest Jane and Terry Semel Chair in Screenwriting. A special sneak preview screening for the Emerson community of his latest film The Descendants will take place Thursday (November 17).

Daniel Tobin, interim dean of the School of the Arts at Emerson, has published a new book, Awake in America: On Irish American Poetry (University of Notre Dame Press). The book examines Irish American culture through its poets.
