    In a letter to the Emerson community, President Lee Pelton and Board of Trustees Chair Jeffrey Greenhawt announced that the College is moving forward with the construction of the Emerson College Los Angeles (ECLA) academic center.

    Alumnus directs feature film

    Less than a decade after his graduation from Emerson, Todd Strauss-Schulson '03 has directed his first feature film, A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas. He collaborated with several other Emersonians on the film.

    The national broadcast premiere of Visual and Media Arts Associate Professor Marc Fields’s documentary Give Me the Banjo will air Friday (November 4) at 9:00 pm on PBS. It will be shown as part of a new series called PBS Arts Fall Festival.

    Performing Arts faculty member and Emerson Costume Shop Supervisor Rafael Jaen will give tips on creating winning portfolios for theater, film, and the allied arts, and sign copies of his new book on that topic at two events open to the Emerson community on Wednesday.

    Interim Dean of Emerson’s School of the Arts Dan Tobin has won the 2011 Massachusetts Book Award in poetry for his book Belated Heavens.

    Todd awarded $15k grant

    Visual and Media Arts Associate Professor Robert Todd was one of six local artists recently awarded a Brother Thomas Fellowship from the Boston Foundation. The award is a $15,000, no-strings-attached grant given to accomplished artists.
