Laura has a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College. Laura's 35-year police career, 32 of which as a Boston Police Officer, makes her a valuable asset to Emerson. She has specialized training and experience in sexual assault investigation, domestic violence investigation, detective investigation, CPR and first aid. Laura is a Community Liaison Officer servicing the Walker Building and Emerson Ebony. Laura joined Emerson in 2008.
Walter went to Plymouth State College and the Massachusetts Municipal Police Academy. He had 11 years of police experience at Essex County Sheriff's Department, Beverly Police Department, and MHFA before joining Emerson in 2011. Walter is a State Police Certified Field Training Officer.
Thomas has been serving Boston for nearly 40 years, with 35 years in the Boston Police Department and joined Emerson in 2008.
Erik has been with Emerson since 2007 and has over 18 years of Police experience. Erik is a C.O.B.W.E.B. certified Mountain Bike Patrol Officer and is assigned to the Mountain Bike Patrol Unit at Emerson College. He is also a Massachusetts State Police Certified Field Training Officer, American Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR/AED Instructor and Certified Sabre O.C. Instructor. In his spare time Erik enjoys traveling, photography and mountain biking.
John Elson, Dispatcher
John joined the ECPD in 2007. He also is a certified R.A.D. instructor.
Evening Shift 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
After 31 years in the Boston Police Department in the Tactical Patrol Force (Anti-Crime Unit), Mounted Patrol Unit, Community Disorders Unit, Domestic Violence Unit (Detective), Ballistics Unit, Boston Police District 13 (Jamaica Plain) [Detective], and the Boston Fugitive Squad-Boston Police Headquarters Edward has been with Emerson since 2009. He is also a US Army 82nd Unit Paratrooper veteran.
Jamila C. Beasley
Jamila has a Masters of Science in Criminal Justice degree from Suffolk University, Boston. She had five years of police experience before joining Emerson College in February, 2013. Jamila is a certified R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) Instructor for women and a Community Liaison Officer serving the Paramount Building and the Emerson EAGLE. Jamila believes that through education, appreciation of differences and positive experiences the Emerson community as a whole will continue to strengthen and improve.
Grace Howard, PT Dispatcher
Grace joined Emerson College in 2013. She has a BA in English and Philosophy and is pursuing a dual MA in English and Children's Literature at Simmons College.
Mid-Night Shift 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
Harold served with the Boston Police Department for 34 years and has been at Emerson since 2009.
Arthur went to Springfield College and Salem First MPOC. He has 23 years of police experience. Columbia Point Police, Bromley Heath Housing Police and Fisher College Campus Police. He joined Emerson in 2011.
Before joinin Emerson in 2013, Michael served in the Wayland and Waltham Police Departments for twelve years. Michael has a Bachelor Degree from University of Massachusetts, Boston and is a Certified Mountain Bike patrol Officer as well as certified CPR/AED instructor.
Alex Francis, Dispatcher
Alex joined Emerson in 2009 as Midnight Shift Dispatcher.
Jacqueline Martinez - Weekend Dispatcher
Jacqueline has a BA in Criminal Justice and Sociology from the University of Massachusetts and is pursuing an MS in Forensic Psychology from Walden University. Jacqueline was a Youth Empowerment Program Organizer in some Boston High Schools and an Intern at the Roxbury District Court Office Probation Department. She joined Emerson in 2013.
Wilbert Russell - PT Dispatcher
Wilbert has a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Curry College, Milton, MA. He was an Intern in Labor Relations Department at Boston Police Department and is interested in pursuing a career in the police force. In his spare time, Wilber enjoys golfing, traveling, and exercising. He joined Emerson in 2013.
