Element K provides web-based self-study courses in desktop applications, design, and media. Element K offers courses in many of the software applications available in Emerson College’s computer labs. The Instructional Technology Group has more information for faculty on the benefits of Element K.
Please note that Emerson’s subscriptions only cover self-study courses. Instructor-led courses are not available through Emerson subscriptions. Subscribers may take an unlimited number of self-study desktop applications, design, and media courses.
Element K Subscription Purchasing Procedures for Students
Currently enrolled Emerson College students may purchase an annual Element K subscription at the Emerson College IT Help Desk, Room 404A, 120 Boylston Street, at a cost of $35. Help Desk staff will provide materials for getting started with Element K to student subscribers at the time students make payment for their subscription.
Payment for Element K subscriptions may be made via ECcash only. ECcash may be added to your Emerson ID card via the web using MasterCard or Visa, or by making a cash or check payment at the Student Administrative Services Office located on the first floor of 80 Boylston Street. Annual subscriptions expire at the end of July and may be renewed for $35 at the IT Help Desk.
Element K Subscription Purchasing Procedures for Faculty and Staff
An annual Element K subscription may be purchased for faculty and staff through the Department of Information Technology. Department heads may make subscription purchase requests via email to email@example.com. An Element K username, password, and instructions on getting started with Element K will be emailed to subscribers. A chargeback form will be sent from the Department of Information Technology to department heads for the cost of Element K subscriptions. Annual subscriptions expire at the end of July and may be renewed via a request from the appropriate department head to firstname.lastname@example.org.
